How to download a GPX track from Komoot?

Komoot has a valuable feature: it stores both your planned routes and your actual trips. Both can be exported in GPX format.
You can therefore create a 3D topographical relief of a hike you've already experienced — or a crossing you're still planning.
Export a tour from the Komoot website
- Log in to komoot.com and open the relevant tour, planned or completed (Profile → Tours menu).
- Open the tour menu and choose the option "Export GPX" (or "Download GPX" depending on the version).
- The .gpx file will download: this is the one you will import into the configurator.
You can only export your own tours. A route found from another user must first be saved to your tours to be exportable.
From the mobile app
Open the tour in the app, then look for the GPX export option in its menu. If it doesn't appear in your version, the website in the phone's browser works perfectly fine.
Planned or completed: which to choose for a relief?
The completed trip tells what really happened, with its detours and variations of the day. This is the right choice for a souvenir.
The planned route is often "cleaner": no zigzagging for breaks, no signal loss. This is the right choice for representing a reference route — a GR, a classic loop — or an adventure to come.
Both work exactly the same in the configurator. And for a multi-day trek, remember that a relief can hold up to three traces, each in its own color: three stages of the same crossing, for example.
